I've always been interested in real estate. But for a long time, I didn't think I had it in me to go after it.
I live with chronic anxiety and depression, and for years that meant I didn't have the confidence to go after a career like this one — constant conversations with new people, high stakes, no predictable schedule. Once I got on the right medication, something shifted. I finally felt like I could do this, and do it well.
My mom backed me completely from the start. Even while she was in the hospital, she made a point of telling me to keep going with my real estate career — that's how much she believed in it, and in me. That conversation stays with me on the hard days, and there are hard days. Starting a new career isn't easy.
I'm doing this to make her proud. Not by how many clients I sign or how many deals I close, but by how happy the people I work with are in the homes I help them find. That's the measure that matters to me.
